Suus Agnes

Suus Agnes is an author-illustrator and comics artist with a background in science communication and literary studies. Her work takes a particular interest in environmental philosophy and practice. She has been published in New Zealand, Australia and on online platforms, and exhibited in galleries and comics festivals, including in Russia, Canada, the UK and the Netherlands. She has recently completed her PhD at Otago University, that uses visual narrative to explore human relations with uncharismatic creatures like insects and spiders. Her thesis challenges human exceptionalism, and considers connectivity and (story)world-building opportunities with the unloved.
